**SAFE 04/21/16** WHAT THE “DICKENS” IS THIS CAT DOING HERE?? DICKENS is a one year old sweetheart who just wants to be loved…..”Dickens was calm, relaxed, and friendly by the front. Reaction when softly spoken to: Dickens leans on the cage door and starts to knead. Reaction to cage door opening: Dickens remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Dickens head-butts, leans into petting, and begins to purr. At moments, he would slowly open his mouth and nip the assessor’s hand gently, but will continue to head-butt and solicit more attention. He may be a bit demanding of attention, but is very affectionate.”….WHO’S GOING TO TAKE THIS LOVELY CAT MAN HOME TONIGHT??….Charles Dickens said “What Greater Gift Than The Love Of A Cat?”..FIND OUT FOR YOURSELF!! 04/11/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Dickens was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He was relaxed and quiet upon intake, and allowed all handling. He was also very sweet and easy to handle during his initial medical exam; he would purr and head-butt throughout the exam. Reaction to Assessor: Dickens was calm, relaxed, and friendly by the front. He may be a bit demanding of attention, but is very affectionate. Reaction to being picked up: Dickens remains calm and allows all handling. Placement Determination: Experience Dickens solicits attention and tolerates petting but may be assertively demanding of attention. Due to his gentle nips during petting, we recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Any future home with young children should conduct a thorough interaction before adopting.
