11/26/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
As per previous owner, Deejay is relaxed around strangers and will go up and approach them. He lived with 3 other cats and was calm and playful with the female cats but was territorial with the male and kept his distance. Reaction to assessor: Deejay was curled up on his blanket near the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Deejay’s ears rotate and his eyes widen when spoken to softly and he seems unsure of contact. Reaction to cage door opening: Deejay flinches and becomes alert. Reaction to touch: Deejay is hesitant and looks around the kennel then lowers his head. He lip licks when touched then gives the assessor a slight nudge and rests his head against the assessor’s hand for attention. His body feels a bit tense but he slowly rises up, appreciates petting and will give head butts. His movements are quick, he seems unsure and doesn’t approach the front. Behavior Determination: Experience Deejay may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to him new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
