A volunteer writes: Today I fell in love with a big boy who was sitting in the corner of the especially big kennel for big cats. And although Dash is a handsome cat, it is his personality that won me over. His eyes were wide with concern when I opened his door, but his whole body just turned to mush when I started to pet him. He began to creep, little by little, toward me, and he turned this way and that, rolling and purring and warming my heart up to a thousand degrees! Before I knew it, he was in my arms, eyes closed, and purring contentedly. Dash is a polydactyl, and I’ve heard some people say that this makes a cat lucky. In Dash’s case, it would make the person who adopts him lucky, because he is a big package of love and devotion. Honestly, I can’t remember when any cat has been this hungry for affection. I’m sure he will be someone’s best, beloved lap cat before long; at least I hope so
