SAFE 9/15/16 Needs placement ASAP! Has : Fracture L. humerus, possible left hind leg and/or pelvis.
Cresent came into care center as a stray and has a humeral fracture that needs to heal up, will need follow up medical care. Meet Cresent at BACC

S/O-QAR, purring, eating well
EENT-mucoid d/c OS, COD, CAU, no nasal d/c
MSI-BCS 3/5, holding LFL up and palpable humeral fracture, not seen on stand or walk, previous radiograph dx right ischial fracture, good haircoat
P-continue terramycin and buprenorphine
discuss with NH about placement

Recheck kitten with fractures
O: QARH. Purring, social. Eating well.
EENT: OS – mucoid discharge, mild chemosis.
MS: L. fore – non-weight bearing. Palpable humeral fracture. Attempts to use hind legs, but unable to stand without assistance. Bears weight left hind, able to flex and extend left hind. Non-weight bearing R. hind but will flex/extend the leg. More comfortable on exam today.
A: Conjunctivitis. L. fore and likely R. pelvic +/- hind limb fractures. Condition stable.
P: Rx Terramycin. Apply Ou BID x 10 days.
Continue buprenorphine.
Radiographs to determine extent of hind end injuries: DV view of pelvis/hind limbs – confirms right sided pelvic fracture.
Prognosis good with appropriate treatment. Rec placement.

Microchip scan Neg.
O: QARH. mm=lt pink, moist, CRT<2 s.
EENT: No oculonasal discharge.
Oral: All deciduous teeth present, several adult incisors.
H/L: Lungs clear, no murmurs.
Abd: Palpation WNL.
UG: Male, palpable testicles.
MS: Unwilling to walk, but able to stand with assistance. Non wt bearing left front. Painful left front, palpable humeral fracture. Difficult to fully assess hind end due to pain, kitten became fractious when palpated so stopped exam.
A: Fracture L. humerus, possible left hind leg and/or pelvis.
P: Buprenorphine 0.2 ml (0.1 mg) SQ.
FVRCP, Rabies vacc.
Prognosis fair to good depending on extent of injuries. Will need rads to determine.
Continue Buprenorphine at 0.1 ml (0.05 mg) SQ BID.
