I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 11/26/2016 from NY 10305, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

11/26/16 14:55 Finder stated that she noticed Crayon coming to the yard for a few weeks now and stated that Crayon would even rub up against the finders legs. Behavior during intake: Crayon was nervous and running around the trap trying to escape. I was able to transfer to den without any issues. When I put the scanner inside the den to scan for a mc, Crayon started to growl and bite on the scanner. I Was able to scan and take a picture but was unable to collar due to animal growling and hissing in the back of the den.

Crayon came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Crayon was nervous and attempted to flee. Reaction to assessor: Crayon is lying in the back of her cage. Reaction when softly spoken to: Crayon looks at the assessor, body neutral. Reaction to cage door opening: Crayon tenses. Reaction to touch: Crayon hisses, backs away to avoid touch, allows minimal petting. Placement Determination: Experience No Child Crayon does not approach the assessor and avoids petting and handling. Crayon is exhibiting behavior suited to experienced cat parents with no children.
