Observed Behavior – in feral den, ears flat, hissing and growling, flees, caught with net, cat seemed to have calmed down so attempted exam with towel, cat began growling again, bit and snapped tongue depressor; sedated with 0.15mLs Telazol IM, which provided adequate sedation for exam and treatments

EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal or ocular discharge noted
Oral Exam: Healthy adult dentition; Grade 1-2/4 dental dz
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic
ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated
U/G: intact male, both testicles descended
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat
CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Rectal: not performed
Assessment: Underweight, Mild-moderate dental dz
Prognosis:
Good
Plan: Acceptable candidate for adoption or rescue pending behavior evaluation. Recommend dental prophy within next 12 mos.
