Upon intake, Cookie allowed counselor to pet, collar and take picture. She took treats from counselor and gave head butts.

Basic Information:: Cookie is a 5 year old, spayed, domestic shorthair cat. Previou sowner received her from a friend 1 year ago but unfortunately decided to surrender due to not wanting her anymore. Cookie was last at the vet last month for vaccines and getting spayed.

How is this cat around strangers?: Cookie is friendly and outgoing around strangers. She plays gently with adults.
How is this cat around children?: Cookie has not been around children. Behavior is unknown.
How is this cat around other cats?: Cookie has not been around other cats. Behavior is unknown.
How is this cat around dogs?: Cookie has not been around dogs. Behavior is unknown.
Behavior Notes: Cookie is relaxed during car rides. She is afraid of baths but will allow it. Previous owner has never trimmed her nails. She isn’t bothered when getting brushed, being picked up, put inside carrier or disturbed while sleeping.

For a New Family to Know: Cookie is a friendly, affectionate, mellow act that has a medium energy level. She loves to sit with you on the couch and will follow you around while you are home. She enjoys playing with catnip and stuffed balls. She is indoors only and sleeps with owner or on top of couch. She at both wet food and dry food 2 times a day. She is litter box trained and used an uncovered litter box with clumping litter. She had a cardboard scratching post.

Reaction to assessor:: Cookie remains neutral, lying down on her cage bedding during the approach.
Reaction when softly spoken to:: Cookie becomes alert with eyes wide op en and ears erect and forward.
Reaction to cage door opening:: Cookie gives an intense stare during the cage door opening.
Reaction to touch:: During the attempt to touch, Cookie began to hiss with ears flat back and strikes at the assessor’s hand.
