05/26/17 16:11 Animal’s appearance – Coffee appeared to be very underweight and slightly dirty. Coffee is missing her right eye and there seems to be a deformity to the left eye. Animal’s demeanor with you – Coffee allowed all handling. Client stated that he found Coffee in her current condition in front of his home. He cannot take Coffee is so he placed her in a box that he had borrowed from a friend and brought her to SIACC.

Upon intake, Coffee allowed all handling. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: hissing, growling EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Coffee is sitting at the front of the cage, body neutral. Reaction when softly spoken to: Coffee becomes more alert, head facing the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Coffee remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Coffee hisses, tense, allows very slow handling. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Independent, Skittish BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Please note that Coffee is blind, and that this may affect the behaviors shown. RECOMMENDATIONS: – No young children – Experienced cat parent Behavior observations _x_ Experience Coffee tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children.
