SAFE 9/25/17 A volunteer writes: if I had to (and will) describe Coco, the first image that comes to mind is a Portuguese Water Dog (remember Obama’s White House dog), a dog with a full black coat and a white star on its chest. Well, our Coco also has a full black coat (wispy and silky rather than curly though) and a perfect white star on his chest. The next image that springs to mind, because of his elegant bearing, attentiveness and serenity, is a collie in a perfect “sit” pose, waiting patiently for a treat and always eager to please. As for Coco’s cat qualities, I’d say she has a Persian’s gorgeous coat (but not as long) and super friendly disposition, but with a lovely, open, perfectly aligned face, rather than a grumpy one (cute as that may be). So there you have it, a new species, a cat-dog with all the best attributes of both, who doesn’t need long walks and won’t slobber all over your face, and who has none of the aloofness we sometimes find in our cat companions. What we don’t know is whether he’s a Water Cat. We hope you’ll let us know, after you take him home, if you find him spending time in the bathtub staring longingly at the faucet. And President Obama, in case you’re cruising our listings of fabulous felines, your doggies need a feline friend, and he’s here for you.
**RETURN** COCO was adopted back in July and was returned for litterbox issues. He has a heart murmur and should have follow up vet check.
