I am a spayed female tortie domestic sh mix. The shelter thinks I am about 14 YEARS old.
I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 11/25/2016 from NY 11355, owner surrender reason stated was INAD FACIL. I came in with Group/Litter #K16-082479.

12/05/2016 Exam Type RE-EXAM – Medical Rating is 3 C – MAJOR CONDITIONS , Behavior Rating is NONE, Weight 7.1 LBS.
12/05/16 Check sneezing, noted by ACO. O: BARH. mm=pink, moist, CRT<2 s. EENT: OD – mucoid discharge, mild chemosis. Nasal crusting, congestion. H/L: Lungs clear. ABD: Palpation WNL. A: URI. P: Move to iso. Rx Doxycycline 50 mg/ml. 0.75 ml PO q 24 hours x 10 days. Rx Terramycin ointment OU BID x 10 days. Excellent prognosis. 12/04/16 Recheck ears – day 7 of Otibiotic. Also, diarrhea noted 12/3. O: BARH. Eating well, no vomiting/diarrhea observed or noted today. EENT: AU – mild erythema and brown discharge. A: Mild otitis, appears to be improving but not resolved. P: Continue treatment x 5 days and recheck. Good prognosis. 12/01/16 Monitor for diarrhea S/O: QAR. Attention seeking. Eating well. Normal stool in litter A: Geriatric, no concerns on exam P: Continue to monitor while at BACC. Good prognosis 11/27/16 Geriatric exam O: BARH. mm=pink, moist, CRT<2 s. Eating/drinking well. ORAL: Mild calculus. EENT: AU – mod. dark brown discharge, erythema, very pruritic. H/L: Lungs clear, no murmurs. ABD: Palpation WNL. MS: Amb x 4. INTEG: Full, clean haircoat. A: Otitis externa AU. P: Clean ears q 24 hours x 7 days. Apply Otibiotic AU BID x 7 days. Excellent prognosis.

11/25/16 18:48 BASIC INFORMATION: Coco is a tortie DSH 14yr old female cat. Coco is geriatric but has no known health issues & has been surrendered to ACC due to owners residential move to a residence that does not allow pets. SOCIALIZATION: Coco is friendly & social towards strangers, she allows strangers to pick her up & pet her. Coco also allows strangers to pet her & carry her. Coco has resided with children & gets along well. Coco is tolerant of child play. She plays gently with adults & children. Coco has resided with other cats & gets along well with them. Coco enjoys playing with other cats & is tolerant of their presence. Coco has not resided with other small animals or dogs. Coco has not bitten or scratched another animal or person within the past 10 days. BEHAVIOR:Coco is gives a struggle when placed inside of a carrier. She allows owner to pick her up with ease & loves affection. Coco will have accidents near the litter box if the litter box is not cleaned daily. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW: Coco is best described as a friendly, affectionate & loving cat. Coco enjoys sun bathing & playing with cat toys such as balls & strings. She loves to sit ontop of owners back and sit on their shoulders. Coco enjoys sleeping on the couch & next to the owner. Coco will follow the owner around when the owner comes home. She enjoys eating dry/wet food from Meow Mix but occasionally likes to try a different brand or flavor.. Coco uses a closed litter box with clumping litter. Coco is very affectionate & is constantly seeking owners to pet her. Coco would do best in a family home. BEHAVIOR UPON INTAKE: Coco was friendly & social towards counselor. Coco allowed all handling & scanned negative.

Coco’s previous owner reports she is friendly and social towards strangers, allowing them to pick her up and pet her. She has lived with children and got along well with them, tolerating child play. She plays gently with both children and adults. She also lived with other cats and played well with them. She allows the owner to pick her up with ease and loves affection. She was described as a friendly, affectionate, and loving cat that enjoys sun bathing and playing with cat toys. She loves to sit on top of the owner and sits on their shoulders. Reaction to assessor: Coco was calm, relaxed, and friendly upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Coco looks at the assessor and places her head down afterwards to rest. Reaction to cage door opening: Coco remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Coco sniffs the assessor’s hand and leans in for cheek rubs. She closes her eyes and starts to knead. Reaction to pick up: Coco remains soft and allows all handling. Behavior Determination: Average Coco interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
