Hello, my name is Clinton. My animal id is #12957. I am a male gray cat at the Brooklyn Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 6 years 1 weeks old. – P
I came into the shelter as a stray on 18-Nov-2017.
Clinton is at risk due to being diagnosed with an Upper Respiratory Infection and will likely require home rest and a series of antibiotics for up to 14 days. This is a contagious illness to other cats. Based on his behavior this cat can go to a beginner home.

Allows all handling Evidence of Cruelty seen – no Evidence of Trauma seen – no Objective P = WNL R = WNL BCS 3/9 EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted Oral Exam: missing all teeth except right upper canine, gingivitis, severe dental tartar PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: male MSI: Ambulatory x 4, injury at right carpus, plantigrade stance hind end, muscle wasted, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, dirty hair coat CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Assessment: Dental disease, FIV+, lameness/injury to RF Plan: Rec LRS 100ml SQ q24 x 2 days, CBC/Chem, radiographs of RF scheduled for tomorrow Prognosis: Fair SURGERY: Okay for surgery
Progress exam: New URI noted History : stray intake 11/18. Started on LRS x2d for mild dehydration Subjective: QAR. Congested and sneezing. Good appetite. Serous nasal d/c. No c/v/d. Objective EENT: Eyes clear, serous nasal discharge noted H/L: eupneic but congested Assessment: Dental disease URI FIV+ Lameness/injury to RF Plantigrade stance Plan: LRS 100ml SQ SID x3d until 11/21 Move to iso Start doxycycline 10mg/kg PO SID x10d until 11/29 CBC tomorrow Chem tomorrow Radiographs of RFL tomorrow Recheck day 7 Prognosis: Fair
Progress exam History : stray intake 11/18. Started on LRS x2d for mild dehydration, also had a chronic wound to RFL and was FIV +. Diagnosed with URI on 11/19 and started on doxycycline. Subjective: QAR, ~5% dehydrated. No active c/s/v/d noted but is congested and lethargic. Eating well-ate all food in cage. KNOWN HISTORY:: Clinton was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Lived Indoors
MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:: Fearful but easily handle
Cage Condition:: Cage is slightly re-arranged
Reaction to assessor:: Clinton was relaxed and resting on his kuranda bed.
Reaction when softly spoken to:: Clinton meows softly then comes forward to greet the assessor.
Reaction to cage door opening:: Clinton remains calm.
Reaction to touch:: Clinton sniffs the assessor’s hand, then leans in allowing petting and rubs all over. He’s very affectionate, gives head butts and is very curious of his surroundings.
Reaction to being picked up:: Clinton was calm, relaxed and allows all handling.
