GONE 6/19/16 CJ is a tiny kitten who needs some assistance. CJ has a fairly severe rectal prolapse which will require surgery. She needs placement by 5pm today and needs to go to a private veterinarian. Please let us know if you can help this little kitten!

Initial 05/20:
Microchip: negative
Sex: intact female
Age: appx 4w
Mentation: BARH
Eyes: clear
Ears: clean
Nose: no d/c
Teeth: deciduous
If abnormal BCS: WNL
Skin: WNL
Hair Coat: WNL
Declawed: no
Any injuries: rectal prolapse appx 3″ from anus. Some outdoor debris clinging to area, gently washed away with gauze and LRS, no tearing seen to tissue, and no self traumatizing. Placed on a vet check for replacing.
Behavior: quiet, allowed all handling, non painful demeanor
Medication: N/A, preventatives given
Re-Exam 05/21:
5/21/16
S: Kitten with rectal prolapse. Otherwise BAR. NPO overnight but reportedly good appetite. Unsure BM/Urine.
O:
EENT: clear/clean
H/L clear, NMA, eupneic
Abd: snp, nmp. Rectal prolapse – approx 4″ exposed – tissue dried and not viable.
PLN WNL
MS/I: WNL
A: 4-5 week F DSH
Rectal prolapse
P: Unable to repair with manual replacement and purse string. Would require resection of non-viable rectal/colonic tissue – possible colectomy.
Attempt rescue transfer
Prognosis good with treatment – consider possible incontinence/soft stool.
Continue deworming schedule
Feed low res
