Christy was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. She allowed all handling upon intake, but hissed a few times when placed inside of a carrier. She was also friendly and allowed all handling during her initial medical exam. Reaction to Assessor: Christy was lying down, calm and relaxed upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Christy rolls over and lies on her back to stretch her legs. Reaction to cage door opening: Christy remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Christy’s tail quivers and she purrs when pet. She head-butts for attention, but prefers to stay by the back of her cage. Reaction to being picked up: Christy was tense for pick up, but remains calm when held. Placement Determination: Average Christy interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
