*** GONE 09/09/16 *** WHAT HAPPENED TO CHIPS?? Reportedly abandoned, CHIPS is a hefty 14 lb guy who clearly had someone caring for him….but we don’t know what ultimately happened. Was he left behind? Did someone not want to pay the surrender fee? Whatever it was, CHIPS is clearly unhappy and scared….so scared that they gave him a NEW HOPE rating….CHIPS is only 6 years old and needs to feel safe and loved again and he needs some patience and time to get there….PLEASE CONTACT A NEW HOPE RESCUE TONIGHT TO SAVE CHIPS….He is lost, alone and scared and YOU are his only HOPE!! Reaction to assessor: Chips looks tense, hiding in the cat den when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Chips remains in place, alert with eyes dilated. Reaction to touch: Chips avoids contact then hisses and growls at the assessor’s hand. Placement determination: NH ONLY Chips is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. He is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
