**GONE 06/07/16** PANTHER MAN NEEDS CAT WHISPERER!! CHINX is a two year old ebony guy who is desperate to leave the ACC…..Is he a true stray or just a cat upset at being at the shelter?? He is two years old and healthy 8+ pounds. He doesn’t have fleas and he has a clean appearance. We need a NEW HOPE rescue to pull this fearful man and give him the chance he needs to blossom……PLEASE CONSIDER CONTACTING A NEW HOPE RESCUE AND OFFERING TO FOSTER OR ADOPT!! Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Chinx was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He was very tense during his initial medical exam and attempted to flee. Reaction to Assessor: Chinx was hiding inside a den upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Chinx does not respond, but the assessor was able to see dilated eyes through a hole in the den. Reaction to cage door opening: Chinx remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Chinx remains crouched over and attempts to hide. He remains immobile, but will attempt to flee when touched. Placement Determination: New Hope Only Chinx is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. He is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
