***SAFE 03/30/17***A volunteer writes: Chino surely lived a wonderful life in his home with young and older children and two cat companions. We are told that he was gentle, playful and relaxed with both his human and kitty siblings, and he was friendly and outgoing with visitors. He would follow his human family members around and liked to lounge on the bed with his owner and the kids. Sadly, Chino’s owner became ill and the feline members of the family have had to find new homes. When Chino first came to the shelter he seemed to keep a stiff upper lip — he was relaxed and easygoing, but his new circumstances are still stressful. However, he is getting the hang of it, now leaning into petting hands and purring. He knows that his new life with an experienced new family can be just as wonderful as the ones he left behind. Come visit our Chino and let him know that life is full of promise and pleasant surprises that are just around the corner.

03/18/2017 PET PROFILE MEMO
03/18/17 13:47 Basic Info: Chino A1105920 is a 7yr old neutered male black DSH who was being cared for after the previous owner became ill along with his brother Jo A1106330 & sister Manchi A1105919 are being surrendered due to no time. They were last seen by a vet a few years ago to be altered and currently have no known health issues/injuries. Socialization: Chino is friendly/outgoing with strangers. He hasn’t been around dogs but was gentle, playful, relaxed/affectionate with the adults in the home, children ages 3yrs-12yrs and each other. Chino hasn’t bitten/scratched any person or animal. Behavior: During car rides Chino will meow. He isn’t bothered by the following: being brushed or being put into a carrier. Chino hasn’t been disturbed while sleeping/resting, had a bath or had his nails trimmed and he scratches on the curtains (but also has a carpeted scratching post he uses). For a New Family to Know: Chino is described as friendly, affectionate, playful & active (especially at night) with a medium activity level. When the owner is home Chino follows them around sometimes and likes to lounge on the bed with the owner and the kids. He’s an indoor cat who sleeps around the home, eats dry Friskies cat food 2x a day and uses a plastic bowl as a litter box with paper towels within. Intake Behavior: Chino had a soft body, eyes and allowed all handling. He allowed to be scanned (-), collared & have his pictures taken (even though he kept attempting to run/jump off the back drop table and was looking down quite a bit). Chino didn’t seem to mind being picked up/held and was placed into a kennel with ease where a second picture was taken to get a clearer picture of his face.
