12/02/16 16:11 Chin Chin is a six month old male black domestic shorthair. He was surrendered by his owner due to owners family member having allergies. He was found as a stray when he was a few weeks old in the owners yard. He was not taken to the vet. Chin Chin has lived with six adults and his littermate. He was described as shy around strangers and takes a few minutes to warm up to new people. He has not been around children but has spent time with teenagers int he home. He is described as relaxed and gentle around the adults in the home. Around the female cat he was affectionate and playful, owner stated he would engage in gentle play. Chin Chin has issues with the litterbox and will defecate outside the litterbox. He had a open litterbox and any litter. Chin Chin had a wooden scratching post and would scratch on the fabric couch. Chin Chin was not bathed had her nails trimmed or brushed. Chin Chin has been kept only indoors and played with yarn. Upon intake Chin Chin was relaxed and had a loose body. Cousnelor was able to collar, scan (negative) and photograph.

Chin Chin’s previous owner reports he has lived with six adults and his littermate. He can be shy around strangers, taking a few minutes to warm up to new people. He has not been around children, but has spent time with teenagers. He is relaxed and gentle with everyone in the home. Around his littermate, he was affectionate and would engage in gentle play. Reaction to assessor: Chin Chin was calm, relaxed, and friendly upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Chin Chin rolls over on his back and looks at the assessor with soft eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Chin Chin remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Chin Chin was slightly hesitant, but he head-butts as soon as he’s touched. He arches his back, begins to purr, and lifts his rear when pet on his lower back. Reaction to pick up: Chin Chin remains calm and allows all handling. Chin Chin’s previous owner reports he has been defecating outside his litter box. He was provided with an open litter box, but we are unaware if any modifications steps were taken to try and address this behavior in the home, so we cannot be sure what the trigger may have been or if this behavior may continue in a future home. However, we recommend that potential adopters be comfortable with management and modification techniques for elimination outside the litterbox should this behavior continue in a home environment. Behavior Determination: Average Chin Chin interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for cat parents with an average amount of experience.
