SAFE 6/11/18 CHIMMEY was adopted last year and has now been returned to the shelter – owner citing litterbox issues. No mention of whether he was taken to the vet for this. Chimmey was previously an owner return and lived with kids and a dog! He needs a home where he can get some TLC and follow up care. He is friendly and sweet!!

Owner stated that Chimmey has been urinating outside of the litter box for the past 3 weeks and this has been happenig a few times a week. Chimmey’s previous owner stated that Chimmey likes his litter box to be very clean. If the litter is dirty he will go outside of the litter box.

Chimmey is an 8 year old cat that was surrendered by his owner due to the fact he is having litter box accident in his new home. the owner stated that she adopted Chimmey from the ACC in October of 2017.

When around strangers Chimmey is friendly and outgoing. When playing with adults he is gentle.

Chimmey has spent time in the home around children and he is relaxed an affectionate. when playing with children he is gentle.

Behavior Notes
Chimmey does scratch on the furniture due to the fact his owner never provided him a scratching post. When given a carpet post Chimmey will scratch on this instead of the furniture. On the way to the ACC in the car he was quiet.When being bathed he will struggle to get away.He has never had his nails trimmed so it is unknown how he will react. He isn’t bothered if he is held or put in a carrier.

During intake Chimmey friendly and outgoing. He allowed the counselor to collar and take his picture with no problems.

Standing in cubby, ears forward and tail raised halfway. Waves tail back and forth slowly and steps forward to greet me as I open the cubby door. Head-butts my hand and purrs, allowing all petting while leaning in and raising tail. Doing well!
