CHILE – A1094304
Gone - 10-26-2016 Brooklyn
***GONE 10/26/16*** CHILE NEEDS A HERO TONIGHT! CHILE was brought into the shelter in a trap. Who knows if she was someone’s pet who wandered off her property? Some busybody who needs to get a life, lured her into a trap with food and then dumped this 4 year old tabby in the ACC. CHILE doesn’t know why she is there, and is trying to make herself invisible by curling up into the smallest little ball of fur she can and hiding in her cubby. She did not want to be touched and although she did not strike out, she was punished with a New Hope rating and sent right to tonight’s list. CHILE would love to have a place where she can warm up to humans again and feel safe. But she needs YOU to give her that chance. Please offer to take CHILE off death’s door and give her a place to chill until she comes out of her shell. EMAIL [email protected] NOW FOR RESCUE INFO.

10/25/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Chile was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Chile was curled up tight inside her litter box facing the wall. Reaction when softly spoken to: Chile lifts her head up, meows softly then squints at the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Chile sinks low into the litter box. Reaction to touch: Chile’s eyes widen then meows loudly when the assessor extends his hand out. Her ears bend flat, she lip licks and slowly shifts away. She stays curled, turns her head away and currently allows no contact. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Chile is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. She is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time
