11/01/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Chi was brought in without information on his behavioral tendencies in his previous home environment. He lived with lots of other cats and appeared well during intake. He was tense and nervous during his initial medical exam, but allowed all handling to be conducted. Reaction to assessor: Chi was lying down in the middle of his kennel and had a neutral body posture. Reaction when softly spoken to: Chi looks at the assessor with soft eyes, but his ears tilt sideways. Reaction to cage door opening: Chi slowly gets up and steps away backwards. Reaction to touch: Chi shifts away from the assessor’s hand slightly, but remains immobile during touch. He appeared very uncomfortable and his body remained tense during the interaction. Behavior Determination: Experienced, No Children Chi tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
