CHECKERS – A1079318
Gone - 7-15-2016 Brooklyn
***GONE 07/15/16*** SECOND CHANCE FOR CHECKERS!! MAKE IT COUNT!! TRAVESTY! The ACC has a website at nycacc dot org, and on that website, they gloat and preen and pat themselves on the back regarding what a great service they provide the animals who enter their system every year. And sure, there are happy endings that come out of the ACC, but there are also dead, frozen bodies in black plastic freezer bags that come out of the shelter, every day of the year. And tomorrow, one of those bags will contain CHECKERS unless foster/adopters are found for tonight! CHECKERS is FIV+. Don’t believe the self-congratulatory hype on the ACC website, because the TRUTH is embodied in their dismissive treatment of FIV+ CHECKERS. Don’t let them get away with murder tomorrow, and bury the TRUTH in a landfill. Make sure CHECKERS is able to be saved by foster/adopters, tonight!

07/01/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Checkers was hiding in her litter box with flat ears and eye focused on all movements. Reaction when softly spoken to: Checkers slow blinks and lowers her head into the litter box avoiding contact. Reaction to cage door opening: Checkers remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Checkers tolerates petting with a slow approach and has eyes fixated on the assessor’s hand. He starts to grumbles and slowly turns away towards the wall. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Checkers tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
