SAFE 1/31/18 Ultra Friendly Young Gray/White Kitty CELESTIAL Needs Follow Up Neuro Consult for Hind Limb Weakness! CELESTIAL presented today with paraparesis (weakness of her hind limbs). She had blood work that showed a bullet under her skin that is likely incidental and bloodwork that showed mild regenerative anemia. She is VERY friendly and well behaved.
She is able to walk around on her own she is just a little wobbly. A neurology consult would be ideal.PLEASE HELP HER TODAY!

Subjective: BARH. Paraparesis
Observed Behavior – very sweet. Easily handleable. Did well for all medical handling and procedures
Evidence of Cruelty seen – no
Evidence of Trauma seen – no

Objective
P = wnl
R = eupneic
BCS 5/9
EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted
Oral Exam: clean adult dentition, no oral lesions noted
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupneic
ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated, distended
U/G: FI, no MGTs, no vulvar d/c
MSI: Ambulatory x 4 with paraparesis, skin free of parasites, there is a firm SQ object on the right caudal flank that can be moved freely in SQ space-it is cylindrical in shape, area shaved and no wounds noted, there is no opening, healthy hair coat
CNS: mentation appropriate – paraparesis with no obvious ortho abnormalities, positive deep pain and withdrawal, CN wnl, anal and tail tone intact

Assessment:
Paraparesis r/o trauma vs other
Metallic FB under the skin on right caudal flank r/o bullet vs other
Mild regenerative anemia
Mild hyperglycemia r/o stress
Mild hyperglobulinemia

Plan: Continue to monitor while at BACC
Pelvic and HL rads-no fractures noted, mettalic arrow shaped object on right caudal lateral side of abdomen-r/o firm mass under skin
CBC-regenerative anemia 27.1 (30.3 – 52.3 %), reticulocytes 143.9 (3 – 50 K/µL), platelet clumps noted
Chem -mild hyperglobulinemia 6.3 (2.8-5.1), mild hyperglycemia 162 (74-159) r/o stress vs inflammation

Prognosis: Good

SURGERY: temporary waiver due to injury
