11/25/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Casserole was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Casserole was lying down near the front of the kennel with his body stretched out. Reaction when softly spoken to: Casserole lifts his head up with his ears pinned back, hisses and slowly inches away from the front. Reaction to cage door opening: Casserole remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Casserole lip licks and stress meows when the assessor approaches him. His back arches, his eyes widen and he swats when close and currently allows no contact. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Casserole is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. He has tried to swat, is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
