Behavior Notes:
Upon intake Casey had a loose wiggly body, Casey was lifted from the carrier and placed on the counter. Casey was scanned (negative) and collared. When attempting to determine sex Casey hissed and swatted at counselor. Allowed all handling upon intake.

History : Found outside shelter in a cardboard box. Appears to have swelling under right eye-started on onsior
Subjective: BAR. No csvd. Mild swelling under right eye-based on intake SOAP appears to have improved.
Objective
EENT: Eyes clear no d/c, no nasal discharge noted
H/L: eupneic
MSI: Mild swelling under R eye – approx. 0.5 cm diameter.
Assessment:
Swelling under R eye – r/o soft tissue trauma vs infxn (abscess, oral)-improved
Prognosis: Good
Plan:
Start doxycycline 10mg/kg PO SID x10d until 11/29
Continue simbadol until 11/21
Last day of onsior today
Recheck in 7 days

Observed Behavior – Handleable but tried to hiss and bite when examining head – possibly painful.
Eating well.
Evidence of Cruelty seen -n
Evidence of Trauma seen -yes – swollen r face

EENT: Eyes clear – no redness or discharge, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted
Oral Exam: no wounds, discharges or abnormalities inside mouth, normal kitten dentitia
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic
ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated
U/G: female intact
MSI: Moderate swelling under R eye – approx. 1.5 cm diameter and 0.5 cm distension. Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat
CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Rectal:
Assessment:
Swelling under R eye – r/o soft tissue trauma vs infxn (abscess, oral?)
Prognosis: Fair to good depending on cause of swelling.
Plan:
Onsior 0.17 cc sq x 3 days.
Re-check face in 2 days.
