**SAFE 03/25/16** Let’s hope this equation does NOT pan out! But, in theory, 3 neutered boys minus 1 hospitalized owner could equal 3 dead cats tomorrow afternoon, unless YOGI, SCOOBY and CARE BEAR get the help they need, tonight! All three cats are in pretty good health, although of course it is wise to read each biography carefully if you are considering foster/adopting. One hates to think of this fate happening to one’s own cats, so one should take that one step farther and rescue someone elses’ cats who find themselves in this predicament. Please don’t let one persons’ medical woes be the death of these three fine boys! Please advocate widely for YOGI, SCOOBY and CARE BEAR, tonight!

Brooklyn Center

My name is CARE BEAR. My Animal ID # is A1067611. – P
I am a neutered male black and white domestic sh mix. The shelter thinks I am about 4 YEARS old.

I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 03/14/2016 from NY 11207, owner surrender reason stated was OWNER HOSP. I came in with Group/Litter #K16-050488.

03/18/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Care Bear came into the care center as a stray so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Care Bear was timid and hesitant to interact at intake (trying to flee) and during his initial medical examination. With our Enrichment Facilitator Care Bear has continued to be timid, allowing touch and petting but remaining tense and at the back of his cage. At the time of his behavior evaluation Care Bear was hiding under his blanket and bogus paper and could not be coaxed out, though he allowed petting along the back. Reaction to assessor: Care Bear is hiding at the back of his cage. Reaction to cage door opening: Continues hiding. Reaction to touch: Care Bear allows gentle touch along his back but his body is tense and he continues hiding. Placement determination: Experienced home without children Care Bear tolerates some attention and petting but appears to be fearful and stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He will likely need time to warm up to his or her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
