CALVI – A1079221
Safe - 7-20-2016 Manhattan Rescue: Happy Homes Please honor your pledges: http://www.happyhomesinc.org/
***SAFE 07/20/16*** Little Calvi is only 11 weeks old and needs to find a family by tomorrow. He’s a gray tabby who was found as a stray and was a bit shy at first with shelter staff. They rated him EXPONOCHILD because of his tenseness with the assessor. Give him a break he’s just a baby! They stated that he was warming up to the shelter environment. Scary thought. This little kitty needs to find his way out alive! Please apply to adopt or foster him tonight.

Behavior On 07/12/16: Experience Reaction to assessor: Calvi looks tense when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Calvi remains at the back sitting upright, alert with eyes wandering. Reaction to touch: Calvi is hesitant at first however, once touched she stands with tail slightly down, then began to head-butt the assessor’s hand, purr and engage to play. Placement determination: Experience Calvi’s behavior has improved for the time she has been at the shelter, she tolerates attention and petting, but may be unsure in the shelter. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Behavior on 7/06/16: Exp/no child Reaction to assessor: Calvi ignores the assessor completely. Reaction when softly spoken to: Calvi ignores the assessor completely. Reaction to cage door opening: Calvi retreats to the back of the cage. Reaction to touch: Calvi hisses and moves away, then hunches in place when touched. Behavior Determination: Experienced, no children Calvi tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his or her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
