***SAFE 10/05/16***CALIFORNIA MAY BE A NICE PLACE TO LIVE…BUT LIVING WHERE CALIFORNIA CAME FROM WAS ANYTHING BUT NICE! The 7 month old was brought in with 7 other cats because of “HOARDING.” The previous owner didn’t even bother to give her behavioral tendencies, but then again, the previous owner had CALIFORNIA moved from one bad situation to another! But THIS situation is likely to have her killed unless a FOSTER OR ADOPTER steps up! She’s already SPAYED and just needs an EXPERIENCED new owner who may have the heart to not only save CALIFORNIA, BUT also some of her housemates!

08/28/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
California was brought in without information on her behavioral tendencies in a home environment. She was very nervous and tense during her initial medical exam, actively resisting restraint. Reaction to assessor: California becomes alert and looks around her surroundings when approached. Reaction when softly spoken to: California looks at the assessor, and then averts her gaze. Reaction to cage door opening: California lowers her body and appears tense. Reaction to touch: California was hesitant, but accepts petting and slowly warms up. She leans in for petting and closes her eyes. Behavior Determination: Experienced California tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
