***SAFE 10/21/16*** THREE HEALTHY HOUSE PANTHERS HOPE THERE IS A HOME FOR THEM OUT THERE TONIGHT!! BURGER, NACHOS and PRETZEL are all publicly adoptable tonight but they are nervous and tense in the shelter environment. They are all healthy, and just need someone with some patience and love to help them come out of their shells and grow into the wonderful kitty companions they can be. BURGER and NACHOS are only about 5-6 months old and PRETZEL was said to be a year old. The ACC is often wrong on age, and these boys may actually be siblings. But unless they have a foster or adopter by noon tomorrow, they may not live to see the rest of the day. Black cats are so elegant and these 3 house panthers would love to prowl around your home!! PLEASE DON’T LET THE ACC KILL MORE ADOPTABLE KITTIES. PLEASE OFFER TO FOSTER OR ADOPT BURGER, NACHOS or PRETZEL NOW!!

10/15/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Burger was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Burger was at the front of the kennel with his body lowered and slowly inches away when the assessor approaches. Reaction when softly spoken to: Burger becomes frozen and looks at the assessor with wide eyes focused on all movements. Reaction to cage door opening: Burger quickly shifts away. Reaction to touch: Burger keeps his body lowered and actively tries to avoid contact. He tolerates petting with a very slow approach, appears uncomfortable and has a tense body when pet. He becomes immobile when petted then he lip licks and looks around for an exit. Burger tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
