SAFE 1/24/18 – BUDDHA is a 3 yr old neutered boy whose owner surrendered to the shelter. He needs a new furever home this time!

Lying in back of kennel, tail wrapped around feet and ears forward. He scoots forward as I open the kennel door and leans into petting. He stands up after a few moments and continues to lean in for petting, tail flicking back and forth. Excitable and energetic, has potential to become overstimulated. Appreciates attention. Doing well!

Lying in front of kennel with a soft body and eyes, ears forward. Allows petting along head and body while leaning in with energy. Stands up and raises tail. Social and affectionate – doing well after first day!

Is this cat having litter box issues?NoBasic Information:Buddha is a 3 year old altered male Gray tabby DSH. Buddha has no known health issues or injuries and last saw a vet when he was at BACC a few weeks ago. He was returned due to him not getting along with the dog in the home.
Previously lived with:In home with owner and dog
How is this cat around strangers?Around strangers Buddha is friendly but likes to ply bite when he gets overly stimulated.
How is this cat around children?Buddha has spent time around a 10 and 11 year old in his home and was playful and relaxed around them.
How is this cat around other cats?Buddha has not been around cats previously.
How is this cat around dogs?Buddha lived with a dog and was fearful and aggressive towards her. He would hiss and growl, and swat when she came too close.
Behavior NotesBudda enjoys being brushed and picked up. He allows for handling, the owner has not previously bathed him or trimmed his nails.
Bite history:Budha has no bite history.

For a New Family to KnowBuddha is described as friendly, affectionate , and confident. He likes to follow his family around the home and loves playing with wand and string toys. Buddha is feed wet and dry food of the Purina and fancy feast brand twice a day. Buddha is litter box trained with clumping litter and an uncovered box.
Behavior Notes:Buddha was very friendly and relaxed during intake, he allowed for all handling and was not bothered by being picked up.
