Brooke is 1 year old, DSH female who was not spayed prior to coming into the shelter. She has no known health issues or injuries and has not seen a vet. She was born in the owners home and was surrendered due to the owner having too many pets in the house already.

2 adults, 1 child, 21 cats

Brooke is shy when meeting new people. She will hide and keep to herself.

Brooke will hide from any children that approach her.
How is this cat around other cats?
Brooke will sometimes engage with the other cats in the home and other times will keep to herself.

Brooke has not spent time around dogs before.

Brooke’s owner has not bathed or groomed her previously. She tolerates being picked up for short periods of time.

History : O/s return 4/14-dehydrated and 1.5 pound weight loss in 3 weeks since adoption. Original intake 3/24-suspect post partum, spayed 3/27 and given onsior post op.

UA: USG > 1.050 refractometer, protein 100, bilirubin 2+ (but liver values WNL on BW), WBC 500

Subjective: QAR, ~5% dehydrated. Eating well. No csvd. Normal bm and u in litter box.

EENT: Eyes clear, no ocular or nasal d/c, ears have moderate brown debris and ointment AU
Oral Exam: Mild dental disease, gums dry and pink
PLN: No enlargements noted

ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated
U/G: FS, spay incision healed, no MGTs, no vulvar d/c
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat

EENT: Eyes – cornea/ sclera/ conj clear, no discharge. Ears – dirty brown (no black) debris AU. Slight dry black ND right nares. No c/s.
Oral Exam: Mild- mod tartar but minimal gingivitis.
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic
ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated. Lots of hard feces in colon.
U/G: FS. Spay scar healed – no pain, swelling, redness, or discharge. Green linear tattoo. Hair growing back well. Mildly distended nipples but no discharge.
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat
CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Rectal:

Assessment:
1) Wt loss – 1.5 lbs in 3 weeks.
2) Thin/ underweight.
3) Dehydrated.
4) Otitis externa.
5) Sl inc glob and neuts on BW – r/o infxn vs inflamm

Prognosis: Guarded pending response to SQF, appetite, wt gain.
