***SAFE 02/21/16 *** WELL BEHAVED GIRL DUMPED FOR MOVE!!…..BOOBOO lived with adults and a teenager and was fine around small children. She is already SPAYED and at home was affectionate and playful yet at the ACC she is New Hope rated…BOOBOO HAS BEEN BETRAYED AND SHE KNOWS IT!! She misses her family and has no incentive to make nice with the ACC enrichment person. WHAT BOOBOO NEEDS IS A NEW HOME!! One where she will feel safe and learn to love again!! 02/15/16 17:53 Booboo is a 3 year old female brown tabby with white domestic shorthair cat who is being surrendered because the owner is moving. Booboo has been with the family almost 3 years. Booboo lived with 1 adult and 1 teenager. There were no other animals in the home. Booboo is reported to be affectionate and playful with the family and enjoys rough play with the teenager. Booboo is an indoor cat who has not been exposed to dogs. She has been exposed to small chidlren and is described as respectful and tolerant. If she is overwhelmed she will flee. If visitors come to the home she will greet them at the door and sniff their feet. Booboo uses an open litter box with tidy cat clumping litter. Booboo will struggle for a bath but is tolerant of a nail trim. Booboo does not like to be brushed and will tolerate being picked up for a short time. She does not mind riding in a cat carrier and is quiet for a car ride. Booboo likes small ball toys to play swat and chase with. Booboo has a scratching post made of rough rope which she uses. Booboo does not scratch furniture in the home. When the family is home she likes to be where they are, when home alone she is well behaved. Booboo likes both wet and dry food. Upon intake Booboo was shy for introduction and owner assisted with handling. Counselor was able to scan for microchip (negative) and photographed but the owner placed the collar. Booboo was easily replaced to the carrier.

Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with BooBoo and at the time she was lying down, hisses at the back of the kennel. BooBoo whips her head around and gets agitated when touched on body. She inches away slowly with her eyes wide and dilated. Booboo lived with one adult and one teenager. There were no other animals in the home. Booboo is reported to be affectionate and playful with the family and enjoys rough play with the teenager. Booboo is an indoor cat who has not been exposed to dogs. She has been exposed to small chidlren and is described as respectful and tolerant. If she is overwhelmed she will flee. Reaction to assessor: BooBoo hisses and growls at the assessor When spoken quietly: BooBoo hisses and growls at the assessor Reaction to door cage opening: BooBoo tries to flee Reaction to touch: BooBoo does not allow petting Try picking cat up: Did not attempt to pick up BooBoo Behavior Determination: NewHope BooBoo seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment BooBoo was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. BooBoo may require further investigation before placement in a home. She is extremely fearful and currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
