SAFE 7/26/18 ***FELV POSITIVE – FIV POSITIVE*** BOBO was found with a wound on his neck. His finder took him to the vet who treated with antibiotics, but then surrendered him to the shelter. BOBO has tested positive for both FELV and FIV. He needs a home to recuperate.

EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted
Oral Exam: adult dentition with moderate dental disease, no oral lesions noted
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupneic
ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated
U/G: MI, 2 testicles descended
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat with ~3-4cm square wound on right lateral neck with serous d/c and a healthy granulation bed
CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities

Moderate dental disease
Plan: Continue to monitor while at BACC
Clipped and scrubbed wound-debrided with gauze
Gave convenia 8mg/kg SQ once and will start clavamox 13.75mg/kg PO BID x7d until 7/31
Gave onsior 2mg/kg SQ once today and will give 6mg tab PO SID tomorrow and 7/26
Sedated with telazol 0.1ml IM
Prognosis: Guarded
SURGERY: ok to schedule for surgery-in house would be preferential
