***SAFE 01/04/16*** BLUE MOON WAS DUMPED BY HIS OWNER FOR MOVING – NOW THIS POOR SCARED BOY NEEDS A RESCUE ANGEL TO KEEP HIM FROM BEING KILLED AT NOON MONDAY! BLUE MOON was dumped when his owner decided to move and not take him along. He is about 4 years old and from the info provided by his ex owner, he really wasn’t socialized or played with much, so he kept to himself. BLUE MOON is afraid, which is normal for any cat dumped however, now that he has the kitty sniffles, the ACC has decided to end his existence for good. BLUE MOON was an only pet and was said to run if near children or a dog. He did allow some attention and petting but they still rated him EXPNOCHILD and slapped him on tonight’s list. BLUE MOON DESERVES A CHANCE FOR A HAPPY ENDING TO HIS STORY. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO GIVE BLUE MOON A HOME, PLEASE CONTACT A RESCUE TO PULL HIM TO SAFETY. YOU MAY END UP WITH A NEW BEST FRIEND!!

He has never been around children or other cats, and runs away and hides when visitors bring dogs of all sizes into the home. Reaction to assessor: Blue Moon looks tense in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Blue Moon remains hiding in standing at the front of the cage, relaxed body posture, soliciting attention. Reaction to touch: Blue Moon slowly head-butts the assessor’s hand, but got agitated with the touch then swats with no claws to stop. Placement determination: Experience / no child Blue Moon tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
