Her Foster Writes: Calling all real cat people (sorry dog people); someone who can give a kitty as much love as she wants when she wants it (and Blondie wants alot), but doesn’t take it personally when she wants her alone time. Her foster mom tells us that Blondie is sweet, loving, joyful and also very independent. She has a very particular pattern: she’s up and about in the morning, playing and following you around, then hibernates under a couch or a bed almost all day, from about 10 am till 8 pm., and then she comes out in the evening for dinner and more play. But the best part is that, as soon as you get into bed, she jumps up and snuggles and kisses your nose and sleeps by your side or at your feet all night. A perfect schedule for someone who works all day. She doesn’t seem willing to interact with strangers unless, oddly, a stranger is babysitting for her overnight, in which case she’s happy to get in bed with that person at night too. What can we say, she’s an odd little duck, and a stunningly gorgeous one too, as you can see. Because of her shyness with strangers and her tendency to hide, Blondie needs a quiet home to feel safe, without other pets who might scare her; no loud music or wild parties please. In that kind of quiet environment, she blossoms into a happy cat who lounges leisurely on the couch and is a curious, outgoing kitten (who still wants her afternoons to herself). We think, but there’s no way for us to know, that Blondie might adapt and come around to another kitten or cat in a stable environment with time to do it on her own terms. On the one hand, she was eager to explore a carrier with another cat in it (who was kept in the carrier) who was brought into her foster home; on the other hand, she came from a situation where there were too many cats and kittens in the home and that might have caused her shyness. She’s a mystery ready to unfold.
