12/06/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Blair was hiding inside his litter box at the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Blair lip licks with wide eyes focused on the assessor and he doesn’t get up or come forward when coaxed. Reaction to cage door opening: Blair remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Blair grumbles and lip licks when the assessor extends his hand out. He has a tense/stiff body when touched, tolerates petting with a slow approach then starts to gets uncomfortable and hisses. He turns his head away and sinks lower into the litter box. Please note that Blair is being treated for an upper respiratory infection at the time of the behavior assessment. This condition may affect some of the behaviors shown during evaluation. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Blair tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
