BILOXI – A1104018
Safe - 3-3-2017 Manhattan
SAFE 3/3/17 A volunteer writes: When I approached Biloxi’s cat condo for a meet and greet, all I saw was a hearty, furry, shiny-black cat curled up in a ball, his belly rising and falling with each breath. Since this dreamy boy was asleep, I took a look at what Care Center staffers said about him. Staff members said that he allowed head and chin rubs and body rubs as well, and though Biloxi was fine with attention and petting, he was a little tense. Makes sense to me: the Care Center can be an overwhelming place at first, and most cats aren’t on their best behavior until they’ve had time to adjust. Just as I was writing all of this down, Biloxi opened his eyes and greeted me warmly, then sailed back off into slumberland. He’s a good boy, and I just know he’ll make a new forever family very happy.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
X__ Experienced cat parent – At the time of this assessment, Biloxi had just been neutered and was wearing an E-collar. He was getting frustrated with his inability to drink his water with the collar on. This could explain some of his unresponsive behavior and reactions. Biloxi tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
