Subjective: BAR, vocal, very slightly prolonged skin turgor
Observed Behavior – vocal, crawling
Evidence of Cruelty seen – no
Evidence of Trauma seen – no
Objective
T = NT P = 240 R = eup/crying BCS 4/9
EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted
Oral Exam: no teeth, no palate defects
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic
ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated
U/G: F, clear urine on stimulation
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, flea dirt
CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Rectal: NP
Assessment
Neonate – apparently healthy
Slight dehydration – takes bottle feeding well
Flea dirt
Plan
Send to foster ASAP
Recommend flea combing and dawn bath PRN
Offer bottle feeding
Prognosis: Fair to good pending foster
SURGERY: Temporary waiver due to age/size
