BELLEROSE – A1093718
Gone - 10-21-2016 Brooklyn
***GONE 10/21/16***ANOTHER CHANCE FOR BELLEROSE… a 3 year old black sweet but scared male cat. He was brought into the shelter in a trap as a stray and this poor guy doesn’t know what he’s doing there in a cage. No wonder he’s scared! BELLEROSE is not in the mood to be pet at the moment. Because he’s fearful at the shelter, he’s only available through New Hope Rescue. He’s desperately in need of a foster, who can allow him time to calm down and relax. If he’s not rescued, he’ll sadly be killed at the shelter tomorrow. Please give SWEET BELLEROSE a chance to live! If you can help him, please contact [email protected] ASAP!! Thank you—from BELLEROSE!!!

10/19/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Bellerose was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Bellerose was pressed up against the back of the kennel with wide eyes focused on the assessor. Reaction when softly spoken to: Bellerose arches his back and becomes very focused on all movements. Reaction to cage door opening: Bellerose remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Bellerose lip licks when the assessor extends his hand then quickly raises his body up. He starts to low growl then raises his paws up, hisses as a warning and allows no contact. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Bellerose is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. He has tried to swat and is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
