SAFE 7/3/18 WATCH HER VIDEO! A volunteer writes: When I first came on my shift I noticed an endearing and pretty face peering at me behind a cubby hole. I opened the main door and voila, she emerged, checking me out from a distance. I spent some time talking softly and then offered treats; she came toward me but did not take the treats. She had barely been here one day, and hadn’t cased the joint yet. When I went back an hour later, I found that she had eaten the treats. I gave her more. This time she took them right in front of me, looking at me with that dear, dear face. She let me stroke her head and scratch her neck, rubbing against my hand with her face. This is a cat worthy of a home with someone with just a little patience and understanding. She is an endearing, sweet, curious and affectionate kitty.
Bella Swan is a 13 year old spayed female gray tabby. She was surrendered due to multiple behavioral issues in the home (scratching furniture and one instance of urinating on owner’s bed).

For a New Family to Know
Bella Swan is described as assertive, independent, aloof, and talkative. When you are home, Bella Swan likes to be in her favorite spot, the window sill. She likes wand toys with feathers at the end and catnip toys. She also likes to play with rubber bands. She has been kept indoors only. She will either sleep in the bed with the owner or on the couch. She has been eating just dry Deli Cat food. She is served 1 cup per day and will eat throughout the day. She will eat salmon or tuna as a treat. She uses the litter box, but recently had one incident where she urinated on the owner’s bed. Her litter box was hooded and has Costco brand clumping litter. She will scratch on a diagonal scratching post made of cardboard and on the furniture (mainly the couch), as well. Bella Swan’s favorite thing to do is look out the window and watch the stray cats and birds.
Behavior Notes:
Upon intake, Bella Swan allowed all handling, but did attempt to flee multiple times so I was unable to get a photograph in admissions. She tried to either run behind objects or leap from the counter. She was flicking her tail sharply with it raised up.
