07/30/17 19:41 Bella is a 6 year old grey and white unaltered female DSH mix; she came to her home as a stray as was surrendered due to the owner having personal issues. Bella has no known health issues or injures and has no recent vet history. Around strangers Bella is shy for a few minutes, when she feels comfortable she will approach the individual slowly. She has lived with a 1 year old child and is relaxed and gentle with the child. Bella has also lived with three other cats and a large dog in the home, and with the other animals she was calm and mostly kept to herself. Bella has no Bite history. Bella has escaped from the home multiple when someone lives the door open. During a bath Bella struggles and tries to run out of the tub. She isn’t bothered with getting nails trimmed and loves being brushed, and held. She was described as mellow, affectionate, and shy with a low activity level. Bella loves playing with string toys and the laser pointer. She is feed dry and wet food of the Iams and Purina brand. Bella is litter box trained and uses a hooded box with arm and hammer clumping litter. Bella also has a vertical scratching post made of rough rope and carpet. Upon intake Bella ws timid and jumpy but allowed collaring and photos.

KNOWN HISTORY: Previously lived with: Adults and a 1yr. old child Behavior toward strangers: Shy for a few minutes but comes out when she feels comfortable. Behavior toward children: Relaxed and gentle Behavior toward cats: Lived with 3 other cats and was calm and mostly kept to herself Behavior toward dogs: Lived with a large dog and was calm and mostly kept to herself Bite or Scratch history: None Litter box training: Yes Energy level/descriptors: Mellow, affectionate, and shy with a low activity level Other notes: She tried escaping from the home multiple when someone left the door open. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: A little shy at first, but easy to handle/examine ENRICHMENT NOTES: 07/31/17 Lying towards front of kennel, ears forward. She sniffs my hand as I reach towards her and allows petting along her head and body, leaning in and coming forward with a low body. Raises her but tin the air as my hand passes along her back. A bit nervous after her first day, needs some time to adjust. Appreciates and allows all petting. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Bella meows softly and comes forward with a relaxed body to greet the assessor. Reaction when softly spoken to: Bella continues meowing and rubs up against the cage door. Reaction to cage door opening: Bella is calm and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Bella leans in for attention, gives head butts and allows petting all over her body. Reaction to being picked up: Bella is calm, relaxed and allows all handling. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate VOCAL: Somewhat chatty CHARACTER TYPE: Sweet, Affectionate BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Beginner Bella interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat can go to a beginner home.
