***SAFE 08/27/17*** FELV POSITIVE 9 WEEK OLD KITTEN BEAR NEEDS A RESCUE ANGEL TONIGHT!
Bear, the 9 week old kitten, is so tiny and cute tested positive for FELV. Kittens this age can test negative in the future so she should be retested in a few months from now. BEAR was friendly and allowed handling with her finder but once locked in a cage in the scary shelter she became afraid. BEAR NEEDS TO BE PULLED BY A NEW HOPE RESCUE BY NOON!

08/21/17 19:42 When Bear was initially brought in, she was very friendly and allowed handling, was even purring. After the finder left and Bear was transferred into a kennel, she began hissing and spitting and growling. When Bear was taken out of the kennel, she was trying to flee.

Hx: one kitten found in an engine S/O ravenous appetite pasty, light brown, slightly soft stool approx 9 weeks old BAR, hissed in cage but then warmed up very quickly and became very interactive; allowed all handling mm pk, sl tacky; upper L canine growing in abnormally with gingival irritation and erythema sneezing, mild serous nasal discharge OU-open and clear AU-mild waxy debris eupnic, heart/lungs WNL abdomen severely distended, soft; no palpable abnormalities diffuse moth eaten alopecia-several areas wood’s lamp positive male intact A Felv Ringworm suspect URI Abdominal distension-suspect parasites; r/o FIP vs other P itrafungol 10 mg/ml: 0.5 ml PO SID x 21 days doxycycline 50 mg/ml: 0.2 ml PO SID x 10 days panacur 100 mg/ml: 0.5 ml PO SID x 5 days ponazuril: 0.5 ml PO SID x 3 days LRS 20 ml SQ SID x 2 days lime sulfur dip twice weekly recheck DTM in 3 weeks prognosis: fair to good temp s/n waiver due to ringworm
