**SAFE 07/31/16**SECOND CHANCE FOR A DOUBLY BETRAYED GIRL! MAKE IT COUNT BY SAVING HER LIFE TONIGHT! The ACC Facebook page crows about how many animals they place, how high their live release rate is, yadda yadda yadda. It’s adorable that they blow so much smoke up their own backsides, but placements are only as good as the care the animal receives once they are on someone’s home. HOW HAS THAT WORKED OUT FOR BATGIRL? Well, she’s been RETURNED TWICE, so you do that math, but it sure looks like the ACC has scored a big, fat ZERO when it comes to their success rate in placing her. And she’s less than 2 years old! How hard can it be to place a KITTEN? It’s all there in her ACC notes, and it’s all there in BATGIRL’s eyes. This girl has been betrayed and betrayed and betrayed some more, and tomorrow, the ULTIMATE betrayal will be given with a poison needle! Please find a FOSTER/ADOPTER who will end this vicious cycle and finally, finally, finally give this deserving kitty a place to truly call “home.”

07/25/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
07/25/16 12:46 Basic Info: Batgirl A1019476 is a 1yr 10month old spayed female white & brown tabby DSH feline who was adopted from us in late 2015 and is being surrendered due to the owner moving out of the state. Batgirl was last seen by a veterinarian during her stay with us and currently has no known health issues/injuries. Socialization: Around strangers Batgirl is shy for several minutes. She hasn’t been around other animals but lived with children ages 7, 8 & 10yrs old and was gentle, exuberant, relaxed/affectionate with them & the adult. Batgirl hasn’t bitten/scratched any person or animal. Behavior: Batgirl hasn’t been on a car ride. She isn’t bothered by being brushed. She struggles to get away when being placed into a carrier. She hasn’t had her nails trimmed, been bathed or been disturbed while sleeping/resting. Batgirl will come to you for attention/affection; she’ll come to you to be picked up/held. For a New Family to Know: Batgirl is described as friendly, playful, mellow & quiet with a medium activity level. When the owner is home Batgirl follows them around. She enjoys ball, string, mouse toys and is an indoor only cat that sleeps around the home. Batgirl eats dry Meow Mix cat food 2-3x a day. She is uncovered litter box trained with clumping or crystal litter within. The owner stated Batgirl uses a carpeted scratching post and also scratches on a wooden door/door frame. Intake Behavior: Batgirl initially had a soft body & soft eyes and allowed to be scanned (+) and to be taken out of the carrier but once placed onto the backdrop she became tense, her hair fluffed up and she hissed/growled; for these reasons and I working alone I was unable to collar her or take her picture on the backdrop. I scruffed Batgirl lightly (which she seemed to respond to) and placed her into her kennel with ease.
