11/21/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Banner was brought in without information on her behavioral tendencies in her previous home. She attempted to run and hide during intake and dislikes being picked up. The medical team reports she was tense and nervous during her initial medical exam, also attempting to flee. Reaction to assessor: Banner was lying down, focused on the assessor when approached. Reaction when softly spoken to: Banner’s eyes dart back and forth from the assessor to the room. Reaction to cage door opening: Banner remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Banner’s ears tilt sideways as the assessor extends their hand to pet her, but she remains immobile and closes her eyes. She appears to appreciate cheek rubs, but she remains completely still throughout the interaction. Behavior Determination: Experience Banner tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
