11/30/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Bamboo was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Bamboo was crouched at the front of the kennel stress meowing at the assessor. Reaction when softly spoken to: Bamboo hisses, she starts breathing heavily and looks around wary of her surroundings. Reaction to cage door opening: Bamboo retreats and lowers her body in her litter box. Reaction to touch: Bamboo hisses upon approach then lowers her head trying to avoid eye contact. She allows petting with a very slow approach, has a tense body when rubbed then becomes uncomfortable and shifts away. She continues to stress meow then curls up in the corner and turns her head away from the assessor. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Bamboo tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
