*** SAFE 07/06/16 *** BABY IS A BEGINNER!! One year old BABY was found on the street and taken in, but didn’t get along with the resident cats and so was brought to the shelter……BABY loves attention and will roll over for your affection!! She might have a very small spot of ringworm which is being treated (as usual the ACC med notes are unclear). But that should certainly not be a reason to send this sweetheart to her death at noon tomorrow!! IF YOU ARE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR A SOLO CAT COMPANION, LOOK NO FURTHER! BABY IS YOUR GIRL!! If you need assistance applying to FOSTER or ADOPT, help is available at [email protected]

06/28/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – BEGINNER
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Baby was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Her finder found her about a month ago and has been caring for the cat since. She did not get along with the other resident cats, so the finder decided to bring her to the care center. She had a tense body upon intake, but she allowed all handling throughout the intake process and during her initial medical exam. The enrichment facilitator reports she was a little shy the first few days, but would approach when being coaxed and allow gentle petting. Reaction to assessor: Baby was calm, relaxed, and friendly by the front. Reaction when softly spoken to: Baby sticks her nose out to sniff the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Baby remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Baby head-butts, begins to purr, and leans in for petting. She becomes very affectionate and continues to solicit attention throughout the interaction by rubbing her cheeks and rolling over. Reaction to being picked up: Baby is tense during pick up, but remains calm when held. Behavior Determination: Beginner Baby interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
