03/17/17:
Avril is an 11 year old spayed Blue tabby and white DSH mix. She came to her home from ACC and has lived with the owner for 7 years. She was surrendered due the owner being pregnant and having allergies. Stripes has no known injures or health issues and has no recent vet history.
Around strangers Avril is shy for a few minutes, and then allows the individual to pet her and hold her. Around children she is relaxed and gentle, she will allow them to approach her and pet her without issue. She has never been around any other animal and has no bite history.
Avril will sometimes scratch on the furniture but mainly uses her scratching post that is vertical. She isn’t bothered when an individual tries to trim her nails, pick her up or put her in the carrier. She was described as Friendly, affectionate and mellow by her previous family with a medium activity level. Avril loves to snuggle up with her owner and place her head on their feet.
When the family is home she follows them around and likes to play with ball toys. She is free feed Blue Buffalo Dry food only. Avril is litter-boxed trained and uses a hooded litter box with fresh step litter.
Upon intake Avril was slightly timid but she allowed the counselor to hold her and put her in carrier. Avril was collared and photo was taken without issue.
