AUDI – A1027305
Safe - 7-15-2016 Brooklyn Rescue: Feline Rescue of SI Please honor your pledges: http://felinerescueofstatenisland.org/donation/
***SAFE 07/15/16***NEW HOPE RESCUE ONLY-AUDI is a brown/white tabby cat just over 1-1/2 years old. His former owner had adopted him and his sister from the ACC when they were just 3 months old. The cute stage. Now that he is an adult, he finds himself surrendered back to the ACC for the excuse of allergies. Funny how some people develop allergies months after they have a pet. Sounds more like they just wanted another kitten around. Audi’s notes from his former owner describe a cat who was a little shy, liked to play with his sister, sleep in his cat condo and be picked up by his owner. Now that he’s back in the system, it’s no surprise that he is upset because he hissed at the assessor during his intake and wasn’t as cooperative as they wanted him to be. Please give this former house kitty a chance to come out of his shell and prove that he can once again live happily in a home. Apply to a New Hope Partner tonight to adopt or foster this lost boy.

07/09/16 13:13 BASIC INFO Audi A1027305 is a neutered DSH cat, about 1 year and 7 months old. His owner adopted him and his sister A1027307 Bugatti from ACC when they were 3 months old and had to surrender them due to allergies. SOCIALIZATION Audi is shy with new people for a few minutes. Audi and Bugatti spent all of their time together and were relaxed, affectionate, tolerant, and playful together. They sometimes played gentle, exuberant, or rough. They haven’t bit/scratched anyone. BEHAVIOR Audi meows in the car. He enjoys being picked up and held. He doesn’t mind being woken up. He’s nervous when put into a carrier. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Audi’s family describes him as friendly, affectionate, playful, quiet, and medium-high energy. He follows them and sometimes sits in their laps. He plays with string, wand toys, and laser pointers. He lived inside and slept in a cat condo. He ate dry and wet foods and Temptations treats. He’s littertrained, used an uncovered box with clumping litter, and didn’t have accidents. He scratched his cat condo covered in carpet and rope. INTAKE Audi was lying down at the front of his carrier. He hissed while I moved his carrier and once after I scanned him (+). He didn’t attempt to strike me as I opened the door, gave him food, took his picture, or scanned him.

07/12/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
As per previous owner, Audi is shy with new people for a few minutes. Audi and his brother spent all of their time together and were relaxed, affectionate, tolerant, and playful together. They sometimes played gentle, exuberant, or rough. Audi is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, quiet, and medium-high energy. Reaction to assessor: Audi looks at the assessor calmly from the back of the cage When spoken quietly: Audi hissed at the assessor Reaction to door cage opening: Audio continues to hiss Reaction to touch: Audi swats at the assessor Try picking cat up: Did not attempt Behavior Determonation: NewHope Audi was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. He seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment he was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. Audi may require further investigation before placement in a home. He currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
