***SAFE 07/09/17 *** BEAUTIFUL ATHENA WAS RETURNED AGAIN!!*** Just when Athena thought she finally found a furever home, the owner who adopted her last year in August, has RETURNED her to the shelter for having NO TIME for his cat! Athena is only 3 years old and very beautiful. At intake she was “curious, sweet, and allowed all handling”. Athena is already spayed and healthy and ready to meet her “furever friend”! Will that be you?
Meet Athena: A staff member writes: Athena is the kind of independent woman that knows exactly what she wants. Her previous owners say that she loves to be in the room with her family and loves to play. She like to be pet and held, but will let you know that she’s all done by gently love-nibbling your hand. Athena would do best in a home with an experienced cat parent that understands that she’s just being herself! ATHENA WAS RETURNED TWICE ALREADY – WILL THIS TIME BE THE CHARM? WATCH HER VIDEOS AND THEN GET APPROVED TO FOSTER/ADOPT THROUGH A NEW HOPE RESCUE – SHE MUST BE RESERVED BY NOON!

07/05/2017 AT RISK MEMO
Athena A1075078 is at risk due to behavior. Athena has multiple DOH incidents, however each incident appear to be due to overstimulation and/or motivated by play. She readily approaches people for petting and attention, but because she has a tendency to become overstimulated and/or prefer to play without retracting nails and occasionally nipping, we recommend she go to a home with experienced cat parents.
