10/15/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
As per previous owner, Aslan lived in a home with 2 adults, 1 other cat and no children. She was socialized and relaxed with the other cat and would normally enjoy sitting in the kitchen or sleeping on the couch. She has only been around children when they come to visit and would hide under the bed because she does not like small children to handle her. She tolerates attention from adults but will jump away when they pick her up for too long. Aslan shares a covered litter box with one other cat and used clumped litter. Reaction to assessor: Aslan was at the front of the kennel rolling around and kneading on her bogus paper. Reaction when softly spoken to: Aslan sniffs the assessor, reaches out for attention and gently head butted the kennel door. Reaction to cage door opening: Aslan is calm and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Aslan rubs up against the assessor’s hand , rolls around and appreciates attention. She rolls around so much she hangs out the kennel, allows belly rubs and allows petting all over her body. Reaction to being picked up: Aslan is calm, relaxed, has a soft body when held and nuzzles up in the assessor’s arms. Behavior Determination: Average Aslan interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents. Her previous owner reports that Aslan can be nervous around children and will hide so we recommend any future home with children conduct a thorough interaction before adopting.
