ASH – A1083494
Gone - 8-13-2016 Manhattan
***GONE 08/13/16*** BEGINNER RATED ASH STOOD ON HER HIND LEGS TO HEAD-BUTT THE ASSESSOR’S HAND – BUT SHE STILL GOT SENT PACKING TONIGHT TO THE EUTH LIST!! Just what does a cat have to do to stay alive in this shelter? ASH is the last of 4 cats who were dumped as a group. Two of them – a momma and baby are GONE and one is SAFE. ASH would like to be SAFE TOO! This sweetie was rubbing and purring throughout her assessment and certainly a cat who can do this in the scary shelter is worthy of being given meds and sent back to the adoptions room. But the ACC is notorious for taking in perfectly healthy adoptable animals and giving them germs so they get sick – only to kill them in the end. DON’T LET ASH BE A VICTIM OF THIS ROUTINE AT THE ACC. OFFER TO FOSTER OR ADOPT NOW! SWEET ASH IS COUNTING ON SOMEONE OUT THERE TONIGHT TO SAVE HER LIFE. BE THAT SOMEONE!!

08/02/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – BEGINNER
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Ash was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. She appeared friendly upon intake and allowed handling. She was timid during her initial medical exam and had a low body, but she also allowed all handling and enjoyed being petted. Reaction to assessor: Ash was calm, relaxed, and friendly by the front. Reaction when softly spoken to: Ash rubs against the cage door and reaches out gently with her paw. Reaction to cage door opening: Ash remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Ash stands on her hind legs and head-butts the assessor’s hand. She rubs against the assessor and begins to purr. She was noted to grumble randomly during the interaction, but the assessor believes this reaction may be due to her noticing other cats. She continues to solicit attention from the assessor and does not display any other distance-increasing behaviors, and continues to be attention seeking throughout the interaction. Reaction to being picked up: Ash remains soft and allows handling. Behavior Determination: Beginner Ash interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
